Minii Emotes is a series of short gif animations intended to be used for messaging apps as quick and witty responses. This project started by creating a simple character design for the mascot, Minii. Emphasizing a bold shape language that allowed for the character to be easily identifiable from different screen sizes. The drawings were created in Photoshop and cut into multiple pieces like a paper doll for animating. Once each layer was cut up they were transferred into After Effects where it was animated using the puppet tool. Once each element was added simple text effects were added.
